Automation Engineer

- Overview
We are seeking experienced Automation Engineers to support pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device manufacturing facilities in cGMP-regulated environments. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role working on automation systems that support manufacturing, utilities, and process control.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support automation and control systems for manufacturing and facility operations
Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and DCS systems (e.g., DeltaV, Rockwell, Siemens)
Support commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) of automated systems
Maintain and optimize process control strategies and system performance
Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues on the manufacturing floor
Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements
Collaborate with engineering, validation, quality, and operations teams
Support change control, documentation, and system lifecycle management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
3+ years of automation experience in a cGMP-regulated environment
Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS systems
Strong understanding of industrial control systems and instrumentation
Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 and data integrity requirements
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
Experience with platforms such as DeltaV, Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, or Wonderware
Background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing
Experience supporting new facility builds, expansions, or system upgrades
Exposure to MES systems (Syncade, PAS-X, etc.)
Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity in industrial environments
