Mechanical Designer
- Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Designer, you will be working at a cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Manassas, Virginia. You will be instrumental in expanding and optimizing facility operations to meet growing production needs. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, project coordinators, and construction trades. Your work will involve drafting as-built pipe and equipment layouts to record drawings, driving the operational excellence of the plant. Engaging in on-site work is a pivotal part of this role, where you’ll be tasked with assessing existing field conditions and spearheading the implementation of field observations and field verifications to current systems.
Action Items:
• Regular site visits to verify existing field conditions and to ensure the alignment of the design implementation process with the project’s observational reports and specifications.
• Coordinating effectively with project engineers, project coordinators, engineering coordinators, construction trades, and other team members to ensure that the design/as-built reflects the project’s objectives.
• Providing comprehensive 2D drawing packages that are clear, accurate, and follow the site design standards.
• Verifying, updating, and drafting comprehensive chemical/mechanical plans including piping layout, equipment layout, schedules, and control schematics.
• Verifying, updating, and drafting detailed piping plans including pipe routing, instrument and valve locations, and equipment layout.
• Drafting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) that show the interaction among system components and equipment.
